Lung Cancer Prevention & Early Detection

Smoking Cessation

Stopping smoking is by far the best way to prevent lung cancer as well as improve your health in general.  There are many supports available to help.

Lung Cancer Screening

If you are or have been a smoker, you may qualify for the Ontario Lung Screening Program, which uses CT scans to screen for lung cancer to try and detect it at an early stage when it is still curable.  You can speak to your family doctor or nurse practitioner about a referral or contact the program directly if you don’t have a primary care provider.  Click on the link below for more information.
