About Dr. Sisson

Dr. Daniel Sisson is a Thoracic Surgeon in the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Lakeridge Health and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Queen’s University. He joined the surgical staff in 2022 after completing advanced training in thoracic surgery at the University of Toronto and a fellowship in General Thoracic Surgery at the University Health Network. Dr. Sisson’s clinical interests include thoracic oncology, esophageal surgery, and minimally invasive and robotic-assisted thoracic procedures.

Dr. Sisson earned his Doctor of Medicine from Queen’s University, continuing at Queen's for General Surgery residency. Dr. Sisson completed his Thoracic Surgery residency through the University of Toronto. He also holds an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences from McMaster University. His postgraduate training includes the AATS Robotic Thoracic Surgical Fellowship and the CATS/STS Travelling Fellowship, reflecting his dedication to surgical innovation and excellence.

Dr. Sisson has served on several national and local surgical committees, including the Canadian Association of General Surgeons Executive and the Lakeridge Health Robotic Steering Committee. His research focuses on improving perioperative outcomes in thoracic surgery and advancing enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) protocols. He is committed to combining precision, innovation, and compassionate care in his practice to achieve the best outcomes for his patients.
