About Dr. Browne
Dr. Ikennah Browne is a Thoracic Surgeon at Lakeridge Health whose clinical and academic work bridges surgical practice, innovation, and health equity. Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, he brings a global perspective to patient care and healthcare system improvement.

Dr. Browne completed his medical degree at the University of Alberta and General Surgery training at the University of Calgary, followed by a Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at McMaster University. He also holds a Master of Translational Medicine from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Health Administration from the University of British Columbia.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Browne is an Adjunct Professor at Queen’s University. His professional experience includes co-founding Voyage Biomedical in San Francisco, where he contributed to the design and development of novel surgical devices. Dr. Browne’s research focuses on the early economic evaluation of surgical technology and improving access to innovative care. He is committed to combining technical excellence with a patient-centered approach to ensure equitable, high-quality outcomes for all patients.
